Dave & Kristen
Hi we are Dave and Kristen. Thank you so much for allowing us to share our story with
you. We grew up in adjacent small towns in New York. Our social circles intertwined in the early 1990s soon after college. We became friends. Good friends. Best friends. After awhile, friendship turned into dating, dating turned into love, and there was no turning back. In 1995, Dave was offered a business opportunity in North Carolina. At that point we knew we were in it for life so we decided to move down together. We got engaged in 1998, planned our own wedding and married in 1999.
Dave about Kristen
I’m more in love with Kristen now than when we married, and she’s the best mother Aidan could ever have. Kristen is a part-time project manager, volunteer and full-time mother, and she works from home. A few of her favorite hobbies include cooking, traveling, drawing and reading.
Kristen about Dave
Dave is a loving husband, a wonderful father and my best friend. He makes me laugh and I would marry him all over again today. Dave runs his own business alongside his lifelong friend and business partner. His hobbies include sports, travel, and grilling.
Our Aidan “Mr. Social ”
What can we say about our precious Aidan. He is so easy going and happy with a smile that lights up the sky. He is an absolute joy to be around. After Aidan was born and we learned that he had Down syndrome we, as first time parents, were quite confounded. We felt as though we were thrown into the big leagues of parenthood having no experience with Aidan’s diagnosis.

However, we jumped in both feet and have since not looked back. And as Aidan grew to become the sweet, loving boy that he is, we quickly realized how incredibly lucky we are. In fact, he has made each of us a stronger and better person, and we cannot imagine our lives without him
Fun Times
We spend a lot of time doing family activities with Aidan, especially on the weekends. After the morning breakfast routine it’s off to the park, a play date, a ballgame, the life and science museum, the pool, or playing basketball in the driveway. Or sometimes we just like to cuddle up and watch a movie or some TV. We love to entertain and do so on a regular basis. Whether it’s having a few friends over for a backyard barbeque, hosting a houseful of Holiday guests or chasing children around the house at a birthday party, we have a lot of fun.
Family
We want our children to have a strong sense of self-worth and independence. We want the best for them, and we want them to earn it. We want them to take pride in themselves, and we want them to laugh. A lot. We want them to grow up giving back to others. We wish for them as adults to find careers that they love. We hope they learn to understand what’s really important and how not to sweat the small stuff. We want them to look back with no regrets. Above all, we want them to be happy.
Our Home
We live in a wonderful, family-friendly subdivision with a community pool and lots of neighborhood activities. Our home reflects our casual lifestyle. It has a spacious, open floor plan, and it’s kid-friendly. We also spend a lot of time in the fenced-in back yard and on the screened porch as well.
Our Faith
We consider ourselves to be spiritual, open-minded, good and generous people. Aidan was baptized at a small, local Methodist church. We know the pastor and his family rather well, and we support the church, which has wonderful outreach programs. We believe in giving back to the community and helping others.
Thank you so much for allowing us to share our story with you. We admire your courage more than you can imagine. The gift of a child is selfless beyond words, and we truly appreciate your consideration. Rest assured we will provide the child with a home filled with love, support, and stability to nurture a beautiful, happy and successful life.
