Kevin & Shauna
Hello, we are Kevin and Shauna. Thank you so much for taking the time to read our profile. We are so excited about being parents through adoption. We promise a loving Christian home where your child will be cherished, nurtured, protected and encouraged by an attentive and loving father and a patient and caring mother.
About Us
We are a loving and giving couple who met in the cafeteria at work. We have been married for four years. We have a solid marriage and look forward to expanding our family through adoption. We enjoy spending time together at home, sporting events, restaurants, concerts, the arts and vacations. Since we have been married, we have traveled to the Bahamas, Mexico, Hawaii and St Kitts. Our favorite vacation spot in the States is Florida, due to the beautiful beaches. We have visited family and friends in California, Arizona, Texas, Ohio, and Maryland. God is a major influence in our lives and we attend a Baptist church on a regular basis. We believe that a strong faith provides structure, comfort, and a foundation on which to build morality and integrity.
There is no doubt that we wanted to start a family, and due to infertility we chose adoption. Our devotion to one another and our dedication to this commitment will only magnify the gift we have to give. Our extended family is extremely excited about us becoming parents and they are eager to welcome a child into the family.
Kevin was born in Illinois, but grew up in Arizona. He is one of four boys born to his mother and father. His oldest brother is deceased. He has a brother who is 15 months older than him as well as an identical twin brother. Growing up, Kevin was especially close to his grandparents, who are now deceased. He spent a considerable amount of time with them and learned many life’s lessons and personal values from them. He enjoyed going to the boys’ club to do woodwork, play piano and go fishing.
Kevin earned his Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. In addition, he completed medical school and obtained a Ph.D in Cell Biology. He is currently a physician at a local hospital, where he provides medical care to patients.
Kevin’s mother resides in Arizona. His older brother and his twin also reside there along with his four nephews and his great nephew. He tries to get to Arizona on a yearly basis. His father, step-mother and half-sister reside in Chicago. He has extended family there and in Mississippi. He has a very good friend who adopted two children.
Shauna was born in Ohio. She is the oldest born to her mother and father. Her brother is 6 years younger. Growing up, Shauna, was outgoing and personable. Because she had a lot of cousins and family, she was used to being around a lot of people and liked to play games, go to birthday parties and visit family and friends. She was active in Girl Scouts, Sunday School and the choir. She took tap, jazz and ballet classes from the age of four until she was sixteen. She still enjoys participating in dance classes in her free time.
Shauna earned a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing and later obtained a Master’s degree in Nursing as a Family Nurse Practitioner. She works as a Cardiology discharge planner at a local hospital.
Shauna’s mother moved to North Carolina eighteen months ago and lives about five minutes away. She was close to her father who passed away fifteen years ago. Her bother lives in Ohio with her niece and nephew. Her niece and nephew have spent the summers with her for the last seven years. Shauna is very close to her mother and father’s side of the family. Combined, she has over thirty-five first cousins and over thirty second cousins, and she makes it a priority to visit with them on a regular basis. She has two cousins who were adopted and four very close friends who have adopted, so she has plenty of people to go to for advice.
Shauna about Kevin

Kevin about Shauna
Shauna is very caring, patient, loving, kind and compassionate. She has a playful and witty personality and is supportive of me during stressful times. She is always helping others and is a comfort to those in times of need. During her time away from work, she enjoys taking Zumba classes, reading, traveling and participating in community service projects with her sorority. I was pleasantly surprised to discover that she is an excellent cook.
Our home
Our home is located in a large subdivision with plenty of parks and walking trails. Our community has good schools, churches, shopping, and a swimming pool. We live in a diverse neighborhood with plenty of children. We live in a two story home with plenty of room for a growing family. We have 4 bedrooms and 2 ½ bathrooms. We have a decent sized back yard which we plan on fencing in before the baby is able to walk. The room we have picked out for the baby has a large window and there is plenty of space to play.
Omar is our ten-year old Cockapoo. He is a loveable and laid back dog. He is very gentle around children. He loves to be rubbed, and his favorite snack is Snausages. He enjoys traveling and has been to Ohio and Maryland on vacation. When his isn’t watching the house, he likes to go for walks and play fetch with his ball.
About Adoption
Adoption was discussed before we got married, so it was always in our life plan. We are excited about every aspect of raising a child together and cannot wait to build our family through adoption. We promise to support your child as they pursue their dreams. We will give them the best educational and college opportunities available and be supportive of every life adventure and career choice that is made. The child will be surrounded by extended family and close friends. We will help our child build confidence in themselves as well as build a close relationship with God. We promise they will feel loved and protected throughout their whole life.
