Meet Your Raleigh Adoption Counselors: Kelly Dunbar and Roxanne Rosenberg
Kelly is a graduate of NC State University where she earned a Bachelor’s in Social Work. She also received her Master’s in Social Work from the University of South Carolina. Kelly has been working with children, families, in the home and in communities for 13 years. Besides working, she has a great husband and three fabulous children. Kelly and her husband adopted their daughter with the help of ACH and feels as though her personal experience helps her relate to other adoptive families.
Roxanne completed her undergraduate study in Psychology at Yale University. She received her Master’s in Psychology from Duke University. Roxanne has worked with pregnant women, children and parents for more than nine years. Her areas of specialty include trauma, prenatal mental health, early parenting, and working with ethnically and socioeconomically diverse families. As a counselor and as a guardian ad litem, Roxanne has been a strong advocate for children being placed in their forever homes. Roxanne is also fluent in Spanish!
A Child’s Hope has seven adoption counselors spread throughout the state, so there’s always someone nearby who can be your champion throughout the entire adoption process. Every adoption counselor is always “on call” to talk to prospective birth mothers, carrying an agency phone with them at all times in case you need to talk with them.
The education and training of A Child’s Hope’s adoption counselors is instrumental to their success in supporting you throughout your adoption process. Each of our adoption counselors goes through 40 hours of training.
Each is also an authorized notary, so they’ll be able to notarize any adoption documents you sign.
On top of that, each adoption counselor is authorized to complete the North Carolina adoption home study, so they’ll be able to oversee pre- and post-placement visits for adoptive families.
