About Our North Carolina Adoption Agency

North Carolina AdoptionA Child’s Hope
offers domestic, North Carolina adoption services. The adoption agency was founded by an experienced and well-respected adoption attorney who wanted to make a difference in adoption. The Agency’s physical office is located in Raleigh, North Carolina, but the Agency has eight adoption counselors located throughout the state so that a birthmother can receive in person counseling in any part of the state no matter where she lives. We have counselors who live in: Asheville, Durham, Greensboro, Greenville, Raleigh, Winston-Salem and Charlotte. The Director was instrumental in lobbying for positive changes in North Carolina adoption laws and the agency is well-regarded throughout the state among adoption professionals. Since opening in 2000, we have placed over 450 babies through our agency and the attorney director has placed hundreds more in independent adoptions.

The agency focuses on matching birth mothers with North Carolina adoptive parents.  A Child’s Hope‘s mission is to provide personalized adoption services to birth parents and prospective adoptive parents. The agency consists of North Carolina adoption counselors located throughout the state of  which enables us to provide personal counseling to birth parents. The agency’s offices are in Raleigh, North Carolina, and we work with adoptive families and birth parents alike in Greensboro, Asheville and all other areas of he state. The Director founded the adoption agency to give personalized compassionate service to birth mothers. The Agency also works with birth mother’s from other states who wish to place with one of couples shown here on our waiting couple’s page.

The domestic adoption program is directed by E. Parker Herring, who is an adoptive mother of two and an experienced family law and adoption attorney.

The agency’s office is within the law offices of Parker Herring Law Group located in downtown Raleigh, located at 434 Fayetteville Street, Suite 2135.

The agency is unique in its approach to selecting and screening adoptive parents. Adoptive parents are asked to have at least five in-person meetings and interviews with the directors and staff before being approved to have their profiles shown to birth mothers. The process begins with a general adoption consultation and the agency directors each meet with the prospective adoptive parents before they are approved to begin the home study process. The agency maintains a relatively small list of waiting parents to minimize the wait that adoptive parents have before placement and to ensure that all adoptive parents are well screened and educated on adoption.

A Child’s Hope reaches out to prospective adoptive couples and birth parents through advertising, a toll-free number for birthmothers and extensive networking contacts in the medical, academic and legal communities. The agency has a broad-based outreach to minority adoptive parents and maintains a toll-free Spanish speaking hotline.

Tom, Donna and ToriThe agency respects the fact that adoption is a very personal decision. All personal identifying information provided to A Child’s Hope is held in the strictest confidence. Since some adoptive parents and birth parents prefer to participate in a more open adoption arrangement, A Child’s Hope encourages prospective adoptive couples and birth parents to consider open and semi-open arrangements. The degree of openness is determined by mutual agreement between the prospective adoptive couples and birth parents. The decision to share information is solely the decision of the prospective adoptive couples and birth parents. They share as much or as little as they choose. Some elect to meet once and not again. Others elect to have ongoing relationships over the years.

Through A Child’s Hope, Caucasian, African American, biracial and special needs children are placed with caring families.
