A Child’s Hope Adoption Agency — Creating Forever Families through Adoption

Growing Your Family Through Adoption: A Gentle First Step this Spring

When you picture spring 2027, maybe you see something simple: a quiet evening, a sleepy newborn on your chest, the soft rhythm of their breathing, and the deep sense that, at last, your child is here. You can almost feel that moment, yet the path to adoption may feel confusing, slow, and overwhelming. You might wonder where to begin, how long it will take, or whether this hope will ever become part of your everyday life.

At A Child’s Hope, we understand that longing and the many emotions that come with it. For 25 years, we’ve walked alongside North Carolina families who wanted to grow through adoption but weren’t sure what the next right step was. Since opening in 2000, we have placed more than 481 children with hopeful parents through our agency.

We believe every person in the adoption constellation—birth parents, parents, and children—deserves respect and the freedom to make choices that reflect their own hopes and circumstances. We welcome and celebrate diverse families, including single parents, families of color, and LGBTQ+ parents, and we are committed to thoughtful, child-centered newborn adoptions across North Carolina.

You also shouldn’t have to walk this road alone. A Child’s Hope has seven professional adoption counselors across the state, serving Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill, Asheville, Greensboro–Winston-Salem, Charlotte, and the coast, so you can receive in-person or virtual support wherever you live in North Carolina. These counselors walk with expecting mothers and hopeful parents before and after placement, helping you navigate decisions, emotions, and next steps with steady, compassionate guidance.

February is often a month when families quietly recommit to what matters most. If your heart keeps circling back to adoption, this may be the time to take one gentle, concrete step. That could mean starting a deeper conversation with your spouse or support system, learning more about domestic infant adoption in North Carolina, or reaching out confidentially to ask the questions you’ve been carrying.

To begin, you can contact A Child’s Hope to learn more about our process, timelines, fees, and how matching and new parent classes work. You don’t have to have everything figured out before you call; you simply need the willingness to say, “We’re thinking about adoption, and we’d like to understand what this could look like for our family.”

If you feel that tug toward a little one who may join your family in the months ahead, know that you do not have to walk this road alone. With the right support and values-driven guidance, your hopes for next February—and all the quiet, ordinary, beautiful moments that follow—can begin to take shape.
